THEATRE SPORTS EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

From 22 May to 8 June 2024 in Berlin, Erfurt, Göttingen, Hamburg, Cologne, Mainz, Münster, Potsdam and Trier, the European Theatre Sports Championship aims to convey the themes of Europe and football. Theatre sport is theatrical competition with the means of improvisation.

The audience inspires the action on stage through their suggestions regarding "football" and "Europe". In the tournament with four two-person teams of professional improv actors from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Switzerland, after a preliminary round and two semi-finals, the European theatre sports champion will be determined on 8 June at Berlin's Theater am Potsdamer Platz. The actors will offer improv theatre workshops in which anyone interested can learn the basic principles of theatre sport. The nine performances are expected to attract 2300 visitors and the workshops 270 participants.
