Football and sustainability - do they go together? Not necessarily, but we need to talk about it! About travelling to matches, production chains for clothing, the typical food around matches. And a lot is already being done - in stadiums, in the football industry, in the minds of players and their clubs. In the run-up to UEFA EURO 2024, "Spirit of Football" is focussing on the UN's 17 sustainability goals in its interactive workshops. One of the aims is to bring people closer to the big issue of sustainability and to show that acting sustainably can mean having fun as well as doing without. 24 two-day workshops are planned throughout Germany at schools, learning centres and fan clubs, as well as training sessions with educators and multipliers to jointly develop existing methods and make them available.
