In the 2023 and 2024 outdoor seasons, the Young House of Literature will be taking its mobile reading kiosk "Freileser" to places where many children and young people in Freiburg spend the summer: Football pitches in the city districts and holiday camps run by Freiburg football clubs. The converted cargo bike presents a selection of the latest children's and youth literature, comics and non-fiction books and invites you to browse, read and have fun. With activities, workshops and readings, the outreach project inspires enthusiasm for literature in an unconventional and playful way. Including: the Freileser trainers and four accompanying open-air events between the goal and the sidelines. Renowned children's book authors, comic artists and illustrators inspire at their readings in the open air and pass on their tricks with pen and paper in workshops.
