BACH AT THE BALL

In the "Bach on the Ball" project, football matches are transformed into music. In cooperation with the city of Leipzig, local football clubs and an after-school club, the Bach Museum Leipzig is organising interactive and sonorous football matches. In his performance, sound artist Erwin Stache combines playing and experiencing football with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Equipped with sound backpacks, the players create a sound collage of Bach motifs and instrumental voices during the performance.

This is complemented by the interaction of musicians and spectators on the sidelines. The result is an experience of sounds, movements and football fever that actively involves all participants and opens up new approaches to classical music.
