JUSTE DEBOUT

Shortly before the European Championships, the biggest dance meeting in the world will take place in Hamburg: the Juste Debout Finals. In preparation for this event, Juste Debout and Kampnagel are organising the special edition Juste Debout Gold in December 2023. From the more than 10,000 participants in recent years, 16 of the best dancers in each of the four categories - hip-hop, popping, locking and house - will be invited to compete against each other in one-on-one rounds in front of a high-calibre jury. As part of Hamburg Dance Week (29 May - 2 June 2024), the grand Juste Debout final will then take place on 1 June in the Sporthalle Hamburg. For the scene, Juste Debout is one of the most important meeting places in the world: this is where international hip-hoppers come together to choose the two best dancers and the best junior dancer in a peaceful, sporting competition. Kampnagel has always worked to dissolve the conceptual boundaries between high culture and subculture, between popularity and niche. Sport is an element of society that promotes community - this applies equally to dance and football. The cornerstones of both disciplines are shared values such as participation, diversity, cohesion and representative competition.
